MediaTek Processor List – All MediaTek Processor Lineup & Ranking

Learn all there is to know about the ranking and list of MediaTek processors here.

MediaTek also happens to be a chipset or mobile processor maker, much like every other SoC (System on Chip) manufacturer out there, such as Qualcomm, Exynos by Samsung, HiSilicon by Huawei, etc.

Since MediaTek chipsets are most frequently found in Chinese smartphone brands like Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi, Realme, Nokia (sometimes), and even some mid-range & entry-level Samsung phones, using a MediaTek-powered handset is one of the most likely scenarios.

Types of MediaTek processors

Currently, MediaTek offers two main categories of CPUs, which are stated as follows:

  • The MediaTek Helio processors.
  • The MediaTek Dimensity processors.

The Helio processors are always identified by the name “Helio,” a single letter from the alphabet (X, G, P, or A) in front of it, and a number.

A chipset’s performance class is indicated by its letter, and its generation is indicated by its number.

Common examples of MediaTek Helio processors include, but are not limited to: The Helio X series, which previously represented the top performance tier of CPUs, has been retired and has thus far been replaced by the new Dimensity lineup, which supports 5G.

  • MediaTek Helio G99
  • MediaTek Helio P95
  • MediaTek Helio A25

Speaking about the Dimensity lineup, there are six different classes in total, including the Dimensity 700 series, 800 series, 900 series, 1000 series, and the recently launched and highest tier Dimensity 8000 and 9000 series.

Therefore, today I’ll be explaining everything you need to know about the many classes of MediaTek processors, how they are categorised, and how they differ from one another.

MediaTek Processor List & Groups

  • MediaTek Dimensity processors.
  • MediaTek Helio X processors (discontinued).
  • MediaTek Helio G processors.
  • MediaTek Helio P processors.
  • MediaTek Helio A processors.

MediaTek Dimensity Processors

The Helio X processors previously held the title of MediaTek’s top-tier chipset, however it appears that series has been retired in favour of the even more potent and 5G-capable Dimensity lineup.

For good cause, this new collection of processors has ascended to the top of MediaTek’s list of processors.

The first is that they support 5G, and even one of the newest chipsets in this series, the Dimensity 9000, has shown to be superior to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and even competing with Apple’s current fastest A15 Bionic chipset.

Even so, some well-known brands on the market are already adopting this processor in their flagship models, like the Honor 70 Pro+, Vivo X80 Pro, Xiaomi Redmi K50 Pro, and Oppo Find X5 Pro.

There are now six separate classes in which the Dimensity processors may be found. Performance-wise, the greater the number, the higher the class of processors.

  • Dimensity 700 series.
  • Dimensity 800 series.
  • Dimensity 900 series.
  • Dimensity 1000 series.
  • Dimensity 8000 series.
  • Dimensity 9000 series.

The business has so far announced the following MediaTek Dimensity processors in the table below.

MediaTek Helio X Processors

The MediaTek Helio X processors were the top-of-the-line chipsets in the MediaTek processor list year after year until the launch of the Dimensity lineup, as I’ve repeated almost a million times today.

The Helio X30, which was released in 2017, was the most recent chipset in this category to be unveiled. No other chipset has been introduced into the range after that time.

The complete list of MediaTek Helio X CPUs is provided below.

Helio P Processors

The MediaTek Helio P95 is the most recent processor in this series. Full HD+ (2520 x 1080) support, up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, a UFS 2.1 storage system, and an IMG PowerVR GM 9446 GPU are some of its features.

A group of CPUs known as the Helio A chipsets are present in entry-level electronics priced under $150. Given that they are intended for cellphones with very limited resources, they are not particularly good but adequate.
