Answers for Wordle Today (October 2022)

We have the daily Wordle answers, as well as a look at all the historical solutions for the month!

Wordle can be difficult. It’s really, really, really hard. Just because of this, no one can blame you for looking for answers online. If a word game from the year 2022 uses words that were common in the year 1842, someone who made the game likes to see people suffer.

Wordle can also be a good time. It’s really, really, really fun. It can be just as fun to talk to other people as it is to play the game itself. Wordle gives players a new word every day and only six hints to help them figure out what it is. If you mess up, you have to live with the shame and stress of a thousand suns. If you get it right, it’s just like any other Wordle day.

How to Find the “Wordle of the Day”

So, to keep the average Wordle fan from feeling shame and worry, we at Gag4n would like to extend an olive branch. We won’t just tell you the answers right away. Instead, we’ll give you some hints. If you can’t figure out what the word is after looking at the hints, you can scroll down to see the answers. As I’ve already said, there’s no shame in going straight to the answers.

If you save a link to this page, you can use it as part of your morning routine. But be careful: if you keep scrolling, you give up your right to complain about spoilers. Also, don’t be the type of person who brags about getting the answer right when all you did was read this page. For people like that, I have a five-letter word: BRUSK. You can decide if this guide is a Wordle cheat code or not.

It’s back to that time! As usual, we won’t tell you today’s word right away. Instead, I’ll give you hints to help you figure it out on your own. If you still don’t get it after the hints (again, don’t feel bad, this game can be hard), we’ll tell you the answer.

So, here are the hints for the 3rd of October, 2022:

The word for today has ONE vowel.
The first letter of this word is S and the last letter is G.
The word for today only has ONE syllable.
*When I say “vowel,” I mean the letters A, E, I, O, and U.

We’re sure you know what today’s word is by now, but just in case…

Here’s a BONUS HINT: This is what a bee or wasp could do to you if it attacked you.

If today’s word of the day is still making you confused, let’s move on to the answer:

How Does Wordle Work?

Wordle at its heart is a puzzle game, think Sudoku or crossword puzzles but for the digital age. Currently, you can play Wordle from the official New York Times website. It’s free to play as well. While there’s no official mobile app (don’t get fooled by clones), you can still play from your mobile. The goal of Wordle is to guess a five-letter word in a limited number of chances.

How Do You Play Wordle?

The objective is to guess the hidden WORDLE in six attempts or less. Each guess must be a five-letter word, and the color of the tiles will show you how close you are to the answer. Green letters mean the letter is in the Wordle at the exact location. Yellow letters mean the letter is in the Wordle in a different location.

What Is the Optimal Strategy for Wordle?

It’s better to go into the game with a strategy than blindly guessing. While any letter can appear in the game, some letters have better statistical odds than others. The following nine letters appear more often than others: A, I, N, L, 0, E, I, S, R, T. In fact, with the letter E, you can almost cut the number of guesses in half. There’s a total of 1,259 words that don’t have E and 1,056 words with an E.

It may be tempting to try multiple vowels, but you have much better odds if you guess words that have only one vowel. From there you can help narrow things down. But don’t be afraid to break out the dictionary or use our Wordle helper if you get truly stumped.

How Do You Share Wordle Results?

After solving a puzzle, a box will pop up with your results. You can tap on the green share button to copy your results to the clipboard and share them. If you accidentally closed the popup, you can tap on the statistics button at the top of the page. After tapping the share button, you can press CTRL+V to share your results!

When Does Wordle Reset?

A new Wordle is available every day at midnight in your local time.
