Will Call Of Duty Mobile receive the same fate as PUBG Mobile
The government on Wednesday blocked 118 more mobile applications, including popular gaming app PUBG
COD Mobile origin: Which country made the game?
Why was Call Of Duty not banned? Or will it be Banned?
In case you are not aware, both the games have been developed and published by the same Chinese developer, Tencent Games. Due to this, many would be wondering if COD: Mobile also ended up getting banned in India or not. The simple answer for the question is – No, Call of Duty: Mobile is not banned in India yet.
The initial plans for COD Mobile were drawn by Activision. COD Mobile is developed by TiMi, and is published in most countries by Activision, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard. After the Season 9 update, the logo of TiMi Studios and Tencent Games was removed from the loading screen.
In December 2018, the game was soft-launched in Australia under the title Call of Duty: Legends of War. In March 2019, it was announced that TiMi Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, will be leading the development, and the game would be titled COD Mobile.
However, Tencent holdings still has a 5% stake in Activision Blizzard, and hence, COD Mobile is developed by a Chinese company, but the publishers are American.
It may be that Activision sought to curb the deal with Tencent Games as a result it wasn’t slaughtered.
